Canary Wharf, Arts & Events
Venue: Canada Park Square, Canada Wharf, August 2006

Canary Wharf Arts & Events is tasked with creating a cultural programme of showpiece events set against the backdrop of the capitals premier banking district. Each year the local residents and employees alike are treated to a blend of world renowned acts and exciting new performers.

In 2006 Canary Wharf Arts & Events team approached Gorilla to build and operate the bars to meet the demands of the increasingly popular live events. Ensuring a high standard of service was maintained throughout.

Main events:

London Symphony Orchestra

The London Symphony Orchestra comprised of over one hundred musicians. This dramatic performance was one of the highlights of the summer and drew a capacity crowd from around the world.

Humph 'n' Acker

Founded in 1948 Humph 'n' Acker are still at the forefront of the British Jazz scene. Welcomed back by over 2000 people on a beautiful summer evening they gave a truly outstanding and charismatic performance.

The Blue Man Group

A new production for Arts & Events team in 2006, Blue Man Group gave a truly euphoric and theatrical musical journey. Inventive and musically thrilling, the Blue Men captivated the audience with irresistible humour, rhythm and breathtaking spectacles.

Gorilla Events at Henley Royal Regatta
Venue: The Boat House (aka Budweiser Tent) June/July 2001 - 2006

The Boat House was created in 2001 to offer a dynamic public bar for one of the most prestigious Regattas in the world and the foremost occasion in the 'English Social calendar'. Over 5 years we have grown 'The Boat House' to a 1500 capacity venue that caters for over 28,000 people over 5 days.

The Boat House has become synonymous with The Henley Regatta with many of the Regatta's 300,000 followers regarding it as their destination bar. The boat house is proud to continue its success as the foremost location for live music, providing gourmet food, brilliant characters and offering a superb and professional service.

RAF Waddington Airshow, Officers Air Show Party 2003 - 2006
Venue: RAF Waddington, Officers Mess

Waddington Air show is the 2nd largest military and commercial air show in the UK and quickly climbing towards the number one position. Since 2003 Gorilla has provided a fully comprehensive VIP bar for over 900 international air force pilots. The Officers Air Show Party has a very exclusive clientele who demand impeccable standards and Gorilla's professional bar service is extremely well received.

The Big Chill, August 2006
Venue: Eastnor Castle, Herefordshire

Already in it's 5th year, The Big Chill festival has quickly established itself as one of the more refined festivals on the summer circuit. Featuring several outdoor stages, large dance tents, and a wealth of entertainment, the festival draws a capacity of 30,000.

Proudly supported by Gorilla, the boys at 'Soulshakers' ( www.soulshakers.net ) provide the invaluable consultancy role in managing and staffing the cocktail bars at this incredible event.

The demanding task is to create the magic that is the Southern Comfort Fat Tuesday tent and The Finlandia Cocktail Bar,serving more than 10,000 cocktails over 4 days. In 2006 The Fat Tuesday tent claimed the prestigious award of 'Best Atmosphere' in the Times, proving that the Gorilla and Soul Shakers blend is truly rocking the festival market.

TMF Festival, August 2004 -2006
Venue: Thurrock, Essex

Since its inception in 2002, TMF has grown significantly boasting 7 stages of Rock & Alternative music to the backwaters of Thurrock, Essex. What started as a pet project for organiser Jo Delaney has now become an annual pilgrimage for 6000 rock fans. The rapid increase in festival revellers created the need for a fast, professional bar set up. Having heard rumours of our legendary service, organisers Kieran & Jo contacted Gorilla to get involved in 2004.

Having exceeding expectations with record takings on the bar, Gorilla became an integral part in the organisation of the event. Now entering our fourth year as bar operators we are proud to be part of the TMF family. Gorilla will be busy creating new ideas for 2007 as TMF moves to a bigger home nearer London. Watch this space.
